Sometimes it doesn't need a detector. Just a front yard and a pole for a new fence. I was called by a neighbor for help and this came out...
6 Boxes of banded .30-06 for the M1919 Browning Machine Gun. Every 4th is a tracer. These were probably lost during Allied advance in Feb. 1945. EOD picked them up.

Very cool find.

Wow! Better than finding hand grenades, or other large explosives. Reminds us to use caution in our quest for treasure.

My dad was a gunnery instructor for quite a few years in the Royal Navy. He still swears the browning was the best and still is. Great find.

TALK ABOUT FIRE IN THE HOLE ........

Do you take them apart and save the brass/copper for scrap? Be careful with the tracers! Good luck.

Wow thats a lots of rounds!

Lot of brass coming out of a hole, what's going to become of the rounds now?
