1600's Narragansett Indian brass kettle indian point*coppers*reale*eagle buttons

Issac was up from Va and we decided to take him to a couple sites we did well at last visit there.
we found a new site and started there.was hit pretty good by someone before us but I was really stoked when this 1600's Narragansett Indian tribe brass kettle arrow point popped out.i got a large colonial coat button from this site as well.
off to the button site next.this site gave up nice early artillery buttons last visit and today was no exception.Dan got a nice copper signal and i walked over to check with my XLT.nothing! couldn't hear it at 5 inches which is crazy.something wrong with my machine.Issac checked it with his AT PRO bam nice n clear.i quickly broke down the XLT and assembled the MXT ALL-PRO I carried in my back pack.
Now I started finding stuff.a few one piece convex eagle artillery buttons which are toasted, next i got a nice coin spill in the road.2 matron head LC's and a 178? spanish 1 reale.a few more buttons.we worked this site for awhile then headed to one last site to end the day.there I got a rare Machins Mills 1772 KGIII. a great day was had by all.everyone came out with nice keepers.Issac teared it up.killer buttons and a complete shoe buckle.16 years old and he looked like a veteran cellar hole hunter out there.

I didn't post last saturdays finds but got a beautiful 1805 draped bust half cent and a 1776 1/2 reale. I was told this may be a Rev War shoulder strap sling buckle? any feed back would be appreciated and a broken eagle wing from a shako hat plate.bummer

HMN.......You have to get closeups for us on that one. Be careful on cleaning.....but it should, with reverse detail like that, be the same on the obverse. Better pics will get banner and allow us to ID. This is a good 1!

Once again you had a couple of killer hunts Dave! :headbang:
Love all those early buttons, the beautiful 1805 Draped Bust Half Cent, the 1776 Half Reale and the Revolutionary War shoulder strap Sling Buckle!

Now that's 'Saving History' at it's best man!
Dave

Hogge I'm pretty sure the Machin mills is a Vlack 5-72A
In the Vlack chart it shows the 72A connected to the 6 obverse. Does this mean there is a 6-72A match that isn't listed?? Friggin' charts.....cannot seem to understand them at times.

True Hogge but i have inside information ... I was present when he dug it it has the obverse 5 front :laughing7:.
hopefully he will get pictures up soon

AAAH..... HAA!! Type-o in the Breen's Book! They have a match listed with the 72B reverse instead of the 72A! Could be a 6-72A!!!! Need the obverse by chart to determine. Coinfacts lists it correctly.

You do know, (of course), that if I see a 6 obverse posted......I'm gonna be all over ya like a hobo on a ham sandwich!:laughing9:

:laughing7: I wouldn't expect anything less than a severe flogging followed by a tar'd and feathered run through
the village before I'm ran out of town here Hogge :occasion14:

:laughing9: SEVERE.......LM&AO!

wheeeew , as i wipe the sweat from my brow ....
i'm still a free and remain an unmolested (by the mob) man until he posts it here then i guess.:laughing7:
Was that Machin's you found an 8-74A?

So many good relics there that kettle point tho has to be the best find tho !! Have read some about them but this is the first one I have seen posted its a killer find !! Surely a great day for you ! Hope to find some goodies like that when the corn fields get harvested out here !!

WoW, Impressive finds,.. congrats :occasion14:

Ok Dan! It is the 5 obverse. Nice coin. Even though pitted, it has lots of detail. Being CFT., usually these come from the ground pretty well shot. Very Rare coin in Rare condition! Still think Banner. Hogge
