Dayum.....................Congrats Scooterl. You know come to think of it, I lost one just like that the last time I was up there. Dont suppose you'll be kind enough to return it

:icon_cheers: SCORE!!! Very nice find......WTG!!

Hey Scooter

Way to Go!!

That is an exciting find for being that old and for being silver. The picture is a little hard to read so what country made the coin?

Thanks for sharing.

Re:

Great find!

18 inches down>>>???????? Were you using the DFX or the Excaliber? Tell us about the VDI. Details lad!!

took it to a pawn shop to see if it was real he told me oh yes , and he said it was worth one thousand to two thousand.

One thing I'll bet is, if a guy in a Pawn shop said it was worth 1 to 2 grand, it's probably worth more :)

Very nice find! Congrats

Very cool coin! The Outter Banks are full of old history!!

hi i have both the whites dfx and the minelab excalibur 1000 i was using the excal . i dont think the dfx will go as deep as the excal. i love both of them. the dfx tell me what it is . found this coin at corolla nc beach last weekend. :icon_pirat:

the gye at the pawn shop was more excided to see it than me . he was just telling me what he thought it was worth and he said he could make me a bisel to go around it. i didnt want to leave it with him. just finding it .

I assume it's a crown and not a half crown?,A half crown would not be worth that much, way to go! Kane23

As I stated in the post above this one....Incredible!!!! one day we too will be that lucky!!!

Wow, nice find. I know that things on the beach will sure sink if the shells don't stop them. I'll have to get an excal if it goes that deep.

Awesome coin.

If you get good pictures of both sides & give measurements, then I can give you a full ID & price.

Unfortunately the pictures are still not clear enough. There were many Mints during the Civil War & many different die types even at the same mint. This is worth getting a expert description.

It is a Halfcrown which was a huge amount of money at the time. Only 10% of people would have ever handled one.

Hi nice coin.... Half Crown as Crusader says looks like 2956 in Spinks book of English coins F £275- VF £800 TK
