17 mm Copper disc

I found this disc today along with a 1775 George 111. The site has produced about a half dozen of them. Most of the coins are from the late 1700's. They are thick like a coin buttons. I thought that they may be gaming pieces or coin weights but they have writing in them.The are not buttons. Any idea's??

Looks to be a button with the soldered on shank missing.....broken off.
