***1700 TAVERN!***SILVER AND COPPER!

Located old tavern on my maps that was built in 1700. Literally, 1700! Got permission and went to work. Found a nice KG II 17??, United States Virginia halfpenny 1773, and a 1776 half Reale. Enjoy!

A little history about this 1773 Virginia half penny. The British Crown sanctioned the minting of these copper coins (appox. 700,000 at the Tower Mint in London) that then came across the Atlantic onboard the "Virginia" in early 1774 but did not actually hit circulation until 1775. After the Revolutionary War these coins along with newly minted U.S. coins were still used as currency for a bit.

Thanks! The location of the tavern is on rural farmland. This 1700 location is my second oldest permission to date. My first oldest permission was built 1695. I’ll attach links to the 1695 hunt 3 day hunt.
