1700s Buckle. Patina is amazing

I’ve pulled out a bunch of 1700s buckles in my last 12 years of detecting but never one with this great of patina.

That’s a killer condition! Sometimes you just get lucky and somehow they don’t get beat up by the elements. Congrats!

Yes it’s what they call here in Germany Arsenic Bronze

Exactly that. A bronze alloy extremely resistant to environmental influence even in fertilized fields. It had a near silver shine when new. Great find complete!
