1700's house producees pin with horse on it.....

i was swinging it in back of a 1700's house ive done quite a bit over the summer. I have gotten many militarty artifacts from this yard and i hope this is another. I Found this yesterday in the back wooded part of the property. It was only about an inch down. It is about the size of a half dollar and is brass. Its kinds bent, but it looks to have a nice design on it. The inside looks to either be a horse, or a dragon. The more i look at it it does look alot like a dragon instead of a horse b/c the figure looks to be real pissed. LOL. I think its a pin, btu im not sure, the back part looks like its a standard pin, however, it may just be part of whatever this thing is. I also i got a small brass horse. Any info on either would be great

I love to ride horses, I need to go riding this year.

The first item is half of a ladies' sash buckle. The second piece might be a Victorian door ornament.

Nice Finds!

Neat find. I thought it was a broach :icon_scratch:

It doesn't appear to have a pin back. It looks like it has a bar across the back--which is consistent with the bars on the back of the sash buckles that the other piece slides into to fasten.

Search "sash buckle" on this forum and you'll see some examples.
