This Image is from an article in the Oceans magazine on the 1715, not sure of the date, does anyone know what 1715 fleet wreck site this image was taken on, or was it maybe from the Atocha?

Photo is a little light, making it hard to see details. Tried fixing pic enough to clear up things. Appears to be a diver working right almost on the beach.

I would like to see the 1714 Plate Fleet found, along with combined hoard of gold and silver.

I tried google that, didn't find anything, must be a missprint. Was there a 1714 fleet?

Yeah, what I believe. It was with the wrong info, probably a much earlier fleet more like 1600s.

4 next to 5 typo lol

The shells fused to the cross are classic 1715 site material.....the encrustation on the cross most closely resembles 1715 type material.....encrustation from the atocha site will never contain those type of shells in my opinion. Those shells are not seen down here in the keys, but are typical on the 1715 Beach sites....I THINK !! Not 100% on that.

Hope your holidays were well, and the new year brings you many treasure adventures Magoo !!

Also....the gear the diver is wearing looks to be a decade or two before the atocha was found....so I'd say late 60s To mid 70s on that photo. No bc, hard pack, old style tank, old school dacor mask, etc.

The shell encrusted silver crucifix is from the 1715 fleet. It is pictured in the January 1965 issue of National Geographic, and also in Kip Wagner's book Pieces Of Eight.

So, from early days of 1715 treasure recovery.
