My oldest coin so far as it beat the 1733 I found last week. The itty, bitty octagonal buttons are a first for me. Any clue what the spoon thingy is? It seems to be pewter. The trade weight was identified by the helpful folks in the What Is It? forum, I just can't figure out its date or if there is a little letter under the crown.

Those are some superb finds!! The "spoon thingy" is just that.....a pewter spoon! The octagonal "buttons" are probably cuff links.........

Awesome finds !! Must be some good territory you're hunting. Congrats !!

Hey! great finds!

No clue on the spooney thing. Lovely coin.

The spoon thingy is exactly that, the bowl of the spoon minus the stem. Most certainly an old poured pewter one. The design on the bottom serves two purposes - design and allows flow between the bowl and handle in the spoon mold. Likely dates early/mid 18th C
