Don't feel bad. I worked a c.1720 house on the main road from Baltimore to York, PA and didn't find so much as a single clad coin in the dirt. The owner said the property hasn't been search since he's had it in the early 1990's, but that a large part of the dirt on one side was graded to make a parking lot for the store that he runs there now. Still, though - the other side of the house is relatively untouched for at least 100 years, and I got no coins and very little non-iron targets from the ground. I'm going back after the next solid rainstorm to hit it with wet ground and am going to take it a little slower to see what I get. Damn power lines close by overhead kept my sensitivity down to 7 or 8 most of the time. :(

I told a story to one of my older (77) friends and he told me that he'd be surprised there's money in the ground on any farm that wasn't put there. He said, back in Oklahoma, if a farmer dropped a coin on the ground he'd call the neighbors to help look for it before he gave up trying to find it. =)

Just in case you did not know, that is a tank wrench. Mostly used for Oxygen and Acetylene tanks to attach the regulators and hoses.

Re: 1730's Zeller House

Cool finds FF, have to go do a search to find out what a "Zeller" house is lol. I got out a bit this morning, keep an eye out for my thread, still cleaning some items for pics.
