decided to knock on a door of a old colonial.was talkin to the owner about what I wanted to do and she said someone detected it years ago but,your more than welcome to try it.after some small talk come to find out they know my step mom! :headbang: I thanked her and off I went.
there were tons of targets in the yard.copper clippings from the roof near the house.man do those sound good a 1/4 of a large copper clipped.you can see lines etched where it was gonna be cut prior.(the CT copper underneath is for size reference)some flat buttons,a zoauve or ball button, broken tombac button,one designed 2 piece with a "festus hayden waterbury ct"backmark a early 1800's naval cuff button,a broken shoe buckle piece and a intact frame.a WWI era? lead toy soldier,a Tom Mix ralston straight shooters thingy from the 1930's, a keg or barrel tap and a medium sized intact crotal bell.a couple wheaties,a 1893 V-Nickel
was a great day and plan to return when the 10 inches of snow >:( we are supposed to get saturday melts

Maybe Crusader could guess if it is British Cavalry or not. There is the little emblem on the hat, but probably has no detail. Besides I think UK, French and German all used variation of the "target" circle thing. May not know for sure unless someone knows for sure that the Germans didn't have short swords, or something like that.

I think British, & 'parade' dress rather than battle.
