1776-1976 Bicentennial quarter

I've had this quarter for awhile now. I've saved it because it was like no other one i have seen before. It's very very shiny. No mint mark and in excellent condition. Can anyone help koo

Circulated proofs are worth 40 to 50 cents, and 40% silver Bicentennial quarters have a value of about $1.50 or more. You may not get rich finding 1976 quarters in pocket change, but there are many other quarters in face value that are worth more than face value.

Welcome to treasurenet. That is what the quarters looked like in 1976. It was a special design celebrating the bicentennial. Millions were made and circulated just like any other quarter. It is NOT a special collectors coin. You don’t see them much anymore, but they still are in circulation and I dig one from time to time. Keep swingin.

Welcome. If you want more and in great shape for 25 cents each, try getting a LOT of rolls of quarters. A lot of dealers dumped them in a kind of contest last spring and they are out there in force.

A good way to tell if it is "run of the mill" clad is if the edge is copperish colored.
If so, it would be one of over 800 million produced.
IF it was a proof at one time, it should have remained sealed as it doesn't have that "proof finish" any longer.
Might want to check on how many proofs were produced.
