1798 Large Cent, 1/2 of ? coin, buttons

Found these over a couple days this week

The date on the LC showed better before I cleaned the dirt off

Not sure what the coin is that is cut in half...same size as a large copper, HC is legible

Any idea how old the gilted button is??

Im not 100% sure, could always be a weird token, but I was trying to see if I was seeing part of the lower wreath area of a Large Cent, where the ribbons are, hard to say either way. Hope others chime in, at least it aint a cut button.

HC is legible

More likely "HO" Than "HC"... See if that fits the beginning of a 19th century local business or location name from your area

The backmark on the button looks like Robinson Treble Gilt. Robinson started making buttons around 1812 in 1848 D. Evans took over the manufacture of uniform buttons The button you dug probably dates about 1820-30

Looked in my counterstamped book & its not present (doesn't mean much, other than it will be very hard to ID it to a maker). Also I thought there may have been a letter after the HC but I now see the edge of the stamp (so its just HC)
