After I found a $20.00 bill on the sidewalk yesterday I decided that it was a sign to go metal detecting.
I was itching to start searching for modern tourist gold again but I rolled the dice one more time and went looking for some older finds. I hit the road and travelled to a remote beach where I have found some nice early 1800s Seminole indian war finds. The condition of this 180 year old one piece Eagle A (artillery) button is truly awesome, if you look closely at the reverse photo of the button you can see the words "UNITED STATES" Other highlights of the 3 hour hunt were several small lead pistol balls and some old pieces of pottery.
