1800's Bergere Chair? Need help with Mark on the back.

We picked this chair up at a shop for a reasonable price. It is very well carved and crafted. It is also gilted but much has worn off. It has been re upholstered but done very well. It also has a mark engraved on the rear bottom rail that we cannot make out. Please help if you have the knowledge. Its driving us crazy!
