1800's CANADIAN COPPER*BANK TOKEN

got out on a solo hunt today back to a old cellar hole site Frank & I hunted in the past.2 cellar holes which are across from eachother on a dead end road,I dug my 1820's NY excelsior militia button not even 10 feet from this in the beginning of the year.I was rolling over logs & running my coil in each spot when I got a nice 70's reading at 2 inches.soon as i pried with the predator & the ground split this is what i saw staring at me :tard:
a 1854 bank of upper Canada token.finds were slim pickins but snagged a flat button,a broken shoe buckle frame,a round lead shot,a 1935 buffalo & a wheatie.oh and i found a ride home for free :tongue3:

Re: 1800's CANADIAN COPPER*BANK TOKEN

The bank token helped you keep your "Captain Copper" title for the year HMN. Can you count that one in your 2011 count? Update the count for me one more time. You had a good hunt. HH, Quindy.

Kuger and HMN this is what i found out
The coins of Upper Canada are very popular with collectors of British Empire coins, not only those of Canada. There are a few scarce pieces in this series. The 1857 issue is quite difficult to find. The pieces have been given the affectionate nickname of "St. George Pieces", because of the obverse design. Jim

Re: 1800's CANADIAN COPPER*BANK TOKEN

Really nice copper, I dug an 1854 one as well a few months ago, but mine was drilled right in the center. (bummer) >:(
By the way I think your car is cool but could use a touch of paint.
