1800's Chorme ?

It measures 6 3/4" lone by 3" to 3 1/2" at the flared end.
The one side was two small screw sized holes in it.
I believe it once was round, but has been mashed completely flat.
It is two walls attached on both sides.
Any ideas? I am thinking tail pipe extension, not sure why it was next to
