Can't say I have, then again, all of these areas are on private property and off limits in NJ
 

This old site is at the end of a baseball diamond in the middle of a public park.
 

Well if it's in a public park and there are no signs prohibiting MD'ing, then have a go at it :icon_thumleft:
 

Seriously doubt you will have to worry about needles.....go for it .........never know till ya try:icon_thumleft:

Ok I don't get the question. One site is different then the next. You have a better chance of finding needles a some parks.

Yes, I've found good stuff at green-belts surrounding hospitals. For example, at a particular hospital in southern CA, blt, in the 1930's, it had lawns around the entrance, sides, and so forth. They shut down a few wings of this hospital for eventual rennovations, and during the time those buildings were shuttered (so I hunted them during that time so as not to be an "eyesore"). I hunted the lawns there, and found silver, wheaties, etc....
