I was trying out my new Nokta Triple Score for the first time today and found this oldie. It's in pretty rough shape but it's been sitting down in the river for over 200 years. At least the bust and date are somewhat legible. Nothing can really be made out on the reverse side but after doing some research, I know it's a half cent from measuring the diameter.

That's a keeper in my book. I love the patina. Nice recovery!

Old is right! The US mint had only been in operation 13 yrs when that was made. It’s likely some of the original mint employees made it. 356,000 made that yr.
