Also found by DigginitRTB. I already blasted him on using copper cleaner :tard: He said he will NEVER do it again! These 2 were found last yr. in the same spot I just found the 1892 Barber Quarter at. We've dug many coins from this spot we think was a store or trading post of some kind. The 1/2 cent was in rough shape anyway. But the LC was pretty nice.

I found a LC 1812 version, just got it enough to see the date and no more cleaning. Still not sure what else to do with it other that stare at it! Great find.

very nice finds.I think its time to take a trip to Pittsfield , need an extra hunting buddy? ;D

Cheers!

Both finds/coins are really nice but that 1807 Draped Bust Quarter is awesome!
Could you please post a picture of its reverse side?

Thanks!

I love the Draped Bust coppas! Why did you guys make the assumption that it was a store or trading post?

We have dug 20+ coins from this one spot all within a 50 yd. radius of this foundation. It is situated at a 4 corners spot where 2 old roads met. There are other homesteads on these roads. The others have given up 1or2 coins but nothing like this spot. Either they were VERY careless or money was being exchanged here for some reason. We think the latter is true. A dozen LC's, a Flying Eagle cent, wheaties, a barber Q, Standing Lib. Q, a 1/2 cent, 2-Draped Bust LC's, 3 Injuns, and 2 Unrecognizable. We think one of the unrecognizables is a Mass. cent but is too far gone to tell. This spot is still giving up coins as I found the 1892 Barber Q. here last week 2ft. away from someone elses dig hole. We have also found coins in all four different roads leading away. $ had to be exchanged here.

Awesome digs man, those half cents are really scarce, say nothing for the Bust but for outstanding.
