hi all went to a new spot yesterday a bunch of old cart paths wich were for harvesting marsh grass in the 1700s. hunted for about 3 hours with no great finds then i got a 82 with a half dollar icon and i dug about 4 inches and out popped this baby a 1817 13 star matron head large cent. first thing i saw was the date oh ya i love large cents not to often around these parts you get a date thats visable on one that old. 2 years away from classic head. i was hoping for another large cent fix ive found three since i got the new machine 11 months ago. thanx whites . wild willy

Nice find. I've only found one in 11 years M.D. It was a 1854 L.C my second oldest coin.
I found it in a yard with the owner watching me. I thought he might want it at first he
diden't say anything, so I put it in my pocket and went about. My XLT has been very good
to me.
