Holy gargantuan salamander, Batman! (said in my best Robin imitation) ;D

Hey, Jim, that was nice of you to post these. :) It looks like that foundation will be a tough hunt unless you cleaned the briars and log out of there. It seems like the best ones are difficult to get close to. My oldest foundation has a dead tree dropped right across it. :(

I'm looking forward to the story.....You'll get more response if you post it under Today's Finds, though. We'd all like to see it.

Strange that you should mention Camp Chase. I have a friend whos grandmother has a house on the old Camp Chase land. Also may be able to get permission to hunt the grounds of one of the old Camp buildings that is still standing.

I'm going off of info a friend told me years ago. The old building that he lived in was supposed to be part of camp chase and it had been converted to I think 3 apartments.

By good luck this building is on the lot next door to his grandmothers house. Also his grandfather who passed away several yeas ago was supposed to have buried a couple jars of silver coins somewhere on their lot.

I would be happy to look for these coins and return them to her just to be able to detect the lot and keep anything else I found.

The only problem I see is his grandmother is up in years with a little bit of an attitude at times toward the family. Do to ageing I think.

I just got off the phone with my friends wife who said grandma is in a good mood at this time. So it may be a good time to ask her.

If I do get solid info on weather this building is from camp chase or not and get permission to detect it I'm willing to share it with you.

Update: What luck. Friends wife just called me back. Grandma has said yes I can detect her lot. She just wants the buried silver coins and a Shriners ring grandpa lost years ago if I find them. I can keep anything else I find.
