My friend Stan and I got out today for a few hours at a school that used to have a Mill site nearby. Stan's 2nd hole was a 1953 rosie. Good start. I wound up with a 1829 LC, 1954 Rosie, a couple wheaties and a few flat buttons. The large button was 11 1/2" down. I was impressed that the X5 manually ground balanced gave such a nice signal on it. The LC was only 5 or 6" down.
My 1853 map of the area shows a Mill site around 200 yds away which is now a development. This site gives up a good find here and there. I've pulled a hard times token, a KG copper and a couple older indianheads along with the occassional silver.
We've also found a trash pit that is laden with oyster and clam shells and some glass. Unfortunately we can't open it up since it's on school grounds. We'll be going back soon.

its a pleasure to hunt with someone so into this hobby.....
i've been hunting with a new machine since the beginning of the year and he has been very helpful chasing the deep ones for comparison.... great stuff you found today and big congrats......stan

Thanks everyone and thanks Stan for the kind words. We'll hit it again next weekend. This time ask Kathy if she wants to go.
She must have some serious stamina to hunt for 7 or 8 hours. I know I can't.

Nice finds Mike. That piece of aluminum that looks like 3 circles over one another is familiar. I found three of the exact things in my yard last month.

new jersey is awesome......wtg

Nice Largie and a really cool big button. Those are good, solid finds.

I'm sure the silver was a nice addition even though it was relatively new.

Best Wishes and HH,

Congrats on the LC and the relics are great. I love the flat colonial button.
