Mach II and I met up with BedfordBob, DeArmittPA, and their new friend today at one of our tavern sites. Coin Magnet... I mean DeArmittPA already found his KG II before we arrived.... Anyhow - we were all over that site looking for an encampment but Mach II and I were unsuccessful in finding anything today at that site.
On the way home, we debated about knocking on a few doors at sites we know hold some late 1700s potential, but decided to pass on them. Instead we decided to check in with my cousin about checking a lot he is buying.. it has a 1900s era home that is slated to be torn down. Thought we might do a simple silver hunt before the nails are loaded into the site. However in talking with him, he mentions a spot in his field where old bells and foundation stones have surfaced with the plow...
Well you know what we had to do!
The other site will wait for another day.
It was easy to find the site.... bricks, glass, pottery and the iron targets started to appear. But soon the buttons and a LC showed themselves.
It was not bad for an hour and a half hunt.
The Eagle button was a surprise.... we will be going back to look for more of them!
If I read Tice's book correctly... its a GEN215, #56 with the blank back. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me....
Mach II will post his finds from this field a bit later.
Thanks for looking.
