I have been working a Historical site for some time and have found some cool things. But today I found a very cool piece of history. It’s an 1834 congressional Whig party button from one of the pioneers for the Whig party. Henry Clay, who not only in my area had a lot of contributions, but to the history of our nation. The button was 6 to 8 inches down, found with an XP Deus. Can’t get enough of this hobby!

None on eBay right now or over the last three months. Must be a rare button! Great find!

Thanks! Had a hard time finding information on it at first. I found a thread on here about a similar button, and found the book Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons by Alphaeus Albert.

Nice button. What a great historical connection. Awesome!
