1835 Home Finds

Tough digging today. Small yard and was pulling aluminum cans at 8 inches or so. I was able to save a few items from the mix including a brooch with an emerald stone. Unfortunately, not in great shape. I believe Victorian period or earlier. Would appreciate thoughts and opinions. Also pulled a 1935 Chicago World Fair bracelet and a printers block which is brass on lead. Anyone who could help date that, I would appreciate it as well.

Wow! Those are so cool! The first one reminds me a lot of a pin I found at a similar age home ( 1833) where people are still living. How great to have that beautiful green stone. :0) I wondered if the one we found was Victorian as well. We also found this other ( pin?) at the same time. I don't know what it is. Don't you wish you knew the story of the original owner?

Nice finds Heidi. Yes, I love the stories relics tell. This home was actually earlier than 1835 but the records were lost when the courthouse was burnt down. The house had an addition built on and homes built up around it so not much to detect. May break out the sifter I one particular area.
