1836 Large brass object

Found this piece in a colonial field in Suffolk today. Not sure what it is, but it's large...about six inches long and 2 inches wide. It's stamped 1836 which is very cool! It's old, but not sure what it is. Any guesses

I found a brass one similar to yours a few weeks ago
