1838 large cent.

Got out for about 2 hours this afternoon after the rain stopped. I hunted an old apple orchard next to my house then walked around the neighbors house to some public service property. Found a few pulltabs,2 memorial cents, and what I think is a 1838 large cent.Any ideas about how to clean it up a little? Thanks, Quaid

Great find!


You might want to consider the peroxide method. I've always had excellent results with it... But take it out if the patina starts to flake off.
