1838 Large Cent

Hi Everyone,

My father in law passed away about a month ago. Today my wife was over at his house and brought this back. Thought I would throw it up here and see what reactions I get. Looks pretty sharp to me. Thanks for viewing.

It kinda looks cleaned from the pics but yet again pictures can be deceiving. Still a nice largie. Sorry for your loss

yowza boss dat der is one Purdy large cent. I would call that vf maybe passing for ef, what does everyone else think.

I think I may actually take that back about it being cleaned after I've looked at it for a while. I honestly can't tell. One thing I can tell is that it's a beauty

The plastic may be making it shinier than normal but it not only looks cleaned, it looks polished as well. You might want to take some good close-ups with the coin out of the holder. It looks XF as far as wear goes but it would be worth less than one that hasn't been cleaned/polished.

I agree, the dark spots in the word liberty and in the 3 and 8 give it away. Nevertheless that is still a pretty large cent.
