1850's Chinese Camp

Went to the Chinese camp with Paul yesterday only searched a couple of three hours it got to hot out there.
No coins this time but I got some neat relics, a brass face plate from a scale Morton & Bremner made in new york, some neat square nails, brass door jam plate and a lock thing not sure if it goes with the door thing?
also found a thingumajig Paul thinks it a letter opener anyway part of one, what do you guys think?
After lunch (thanks again Paul) I took Paul to a creek that I like to pan for gold at I have only gotten flakes there, NO WATER RUNNING DANG! but it has lots of shade. no water so Paul tried his luck at detecting for nuggets, lots of bullets no nuggets this time. It was a fun outing except for the heat.

Those still look like a great days worth of digs - and a great read too... sounds like a great day to me!
