1850's Site Yields Dog of a Find

In among the 30 pounds of spikes, giant bolts, square nails and great sounding shell casings I found what I thought was a medallion or buckle with an eagle on it. I did find a beat up button with an eagle. Pretty common find at old gold rush areas.

My "eagle wings" transformed into dog ears during clean up. Fooled again!! :laughing7: :tongue3: Some sort of old pin or brooch. Looks like a dachshund pup according to the expert (my wife).

The better 7/8s is always right even if they are wrong lol Thats really cool I love finds like that Hunting a gold rush area has gotta be a blast thanks for sharing your finds and stay safe out there Tommy

That daschund find is unique...you won't see too many finds like that around...
