Got out for a LONGG day of detecting with Mom and Arty(Artyfacts)Down in his neck of the woods. Came away with some pretty decent finds including a beautiful 1858 Flying Eagle, An eagle button with a Hortsman Philly backmark, a few buttons some very old. The pewter one has to be mid 1700's and a neat domed button that is solid, not sure about that one probably same date range. Also found a Whatsit at the top pic. Half circle shaped piece with two solid teeth sticking out of the back. :icon_thumleft: Mom ended up finding a few buttons, a silver washington quarter and ,of course, a 14kt gold ring in a farm field. No matter where she goes the gold finds her.... :o Arty ended up with a few buttons a some nice suspender buckles. Thanks for having us down Arty! Would love to see those buckles. And thanks agin for the Confederate General Service Accoutrement Plate book!Lots of pictures...I like pictures :laughing9: Thanks for looking. :icon_thumleft:

I just want to say thank you for artie taking us to a great spot! That flying eagle is the nicest one I have seen. We all had a great time and I really enjoyed the finds that we all made. Can't wait till the next time!! Artie hope that you are feeling better. I have a new shovel to try out. It is the Raven by Predator tools. I am so psyched. George Lesche makes some awesome tools and this one by far has to be the best I have seen him produce. Check out his website a sales@predatortools.com and check this Raven out. IIt is definitely for the relic hunter to get through those roots and tough areas. Congrats Jim on some more great finds!

Nice score, congrats! :icon_thumright:

Love BOTH the Eagle's
