Did some door knockin' today. Showed my daughter a lesson in rejection and success. We were shut down once, but got a yes the second time. We were welcomed warmly by the owner and he said he detected the property himself previously but he gave me a chance.
15 minutes in at 4" I found an 1832 LC. 20 minutes in the owner had to run out and cut the hunt short. He seemed to do a complete 180, maybe because he didn't realize I'd be digging (?)
Either way, my girl thought the LC was kind of cool but was more interested in seeing the rest of Chicken Run on Netflix when we got home. I'd like to think that deep down, somewhere, a lesson and memory was planted in that noggin'. When I told her the coin was 182 years older than her she was like "oh, that's interesting papa" [unimpressed]
Happy hunting fellas
