Hi all! Love starting my day with coffee and seeing all the fantastic finds here!

I was able to scare up another IH yesterday due to the damp ground for the signal boost, as they are down pretty deep at the spot I hunt. It's worn down so not worth anything - but I was glad to be able to see the date.

I had a question about the wheat cent I found yesterday - I noticed that there appears to be a slight doubling in the words "In God We Trust" at the top. I'm absolutely sure it's not my eyesight going on me - as I had my friend look as well and he noticed it also. It's not very strong but easy to see with an eye loop. I just wanted to know if there were any doubling errors listed for this year and coin? I realize that for an error coin to be worth anything it must be an easily seen error so mine probably won't count - but it was kind of interesting to see the variation for once - as I haven't come across any yet in this hobby.

I'll include some shots that I tried to get of the coin. It couldn't zoom up that close but I think you can see the slight doubling in the word "God" at least. It's present in all the letters but most noticeably in that word in the photo.

Thanks for any knowledge you care to share with me!

..and HH out there!! :icon_thumright: (Now I'm going to head out and try my luck today as it's going to be the only non-rainy one according to the forecasts)

HI,THERE ARE NO KNOWN DOUBLE DIE ON THE 1911-D I THINK WHAT YOU ARE SEEING IS MACHINE DOUBLING I HAVE SOME 68-S CENTS THAT LOOK THE SAME 11-D IS A SEMI KEY COIN IN MY OPINION...

I don't know the difference between machine doubling and 'regular'.
looks doubled to me, and I know I find lots of error wheats.
(in comparison to 'modern' coins)
Nice coins

I agree with the machine doubling. Machine doubling comes from worn dies. A true doubled die has the doubling carved into the die itself.
