I had a great time Saturday with my buddy Chris searching for history. The first part of the day we attempted to find my 6th great grandfather's home site which dates back to the Revolution. We found what we believe to be a barn or outbuilding. Every nail we dug was an 18th century rosehead (hand forged). We didn't locate the house yet but we are getting close. My best find from there was the 1876 Carson City seated dime. A also found a padlock, 2 buttons, a thinmble & a decorative piece. We ended the day at a place I've been to many times. I found a new area that has been producing colonial relics & found a few things. Chris had the best find from this site with a King George II half penny. It was a pretty day, sad that relic season is almost over! It's been a good one though! seated.webpbutt.webppadlock.webpmisc.webpdoor.webp

Those are some great finds!
Why is relic season almost over?

Well done buddy. Those CC coins are an awesome find

The finds from this site look amazing! That small lock is my personal favorite. Congrats on a great day living the dream!

Turkey season coming up & then the heat. January - March is what we call relic season. Of course I won’t stop hunting but the conditions are less than favorable

Thanks for the reply. Hope you get a couple big Gobbler's.
Just thawed out good here, so we're just getting started.

Great bunch of finds. I have never found a coin with a "cc" mint mark. Guess that's not too surprising given that I'm up here in New England. Definitely on my bucket-list. Congrats and excuse my strong feelings of envy!

Very nice finds and presentation! :icon_thumleft:

Great banged up CC man. I enjoy imperfect coins that tell stories. Great ID on all those artifacts too!

Me too. It’s not about the money, it’s about the history

That is truly a sweet hunt.
Congrats on your finds, especially the "CC" mint mark .

Helluva hunt. 🙌 Nice variety of finds. CC has been on my. bucket list since my Mentor dug an 1873CC at an abandoned campground back in the 80's.

Fantastic finds. CC coins are a great score for anyone! Love that lock!

Congrats on the sweet CC coin Josh. You have been on fire lately.

Good luck.

Congrats on that CC Seated Dime. Thats a tough mint mark to find. I also like that padlock.

Nice finds... Congrats

Great finds. Love the dime. Congrats!

Nice finds, that is the one mint mark I have yet to find, congrats!
