Everyone, I recently came into a 1883 V nickle it looks to be in NM shape, very clear lines, crisp edges little to no wear or fading. The thing is there are some small black dots on it. Should i try to clean it or just let it be ? Also any ideas on the value? I was thinking @ $20 Am I in the ballpark ? or in the parking lot ? Thanks one and all Acevilla-v

Don't clean it!! Cleaning only lowers value. Does your nickel have the word "cents" below the wreath on the back, or does it not.

Without "cent" value ranges from $6 bucks in G-4 to $26 in MS-60.
With "cent" value ranges from $16 in G-4 to $170 in MS-60.

It is really hard to judge grade without a picture, and even with a picture it is hard.
