I believe it was turned into a pin looks like solder marks on back.

Pop out coin, don't think I've seen a indian head penny . Most are larger denomination. Once in a life time find congratulations on a rare recovery

Thanks. When I first dug it up it looked like it was shot from the back. When I cleaned it I was surprised.
