I can’t find anything that gives what an official weight for the coin.

Individual claims they bought it in 1981 for $60 from a coin dealer.

They are asking $100. They say it is an aluminum coin which matches what it’s supposed to be.

First of all, it is not a dollar coin. It is a commemorative token, the same size as a dollar, made of aluminum by a private mint. Not by or for any government. Any value is determined by the collector buying it. I have seen them in coin shops listed from a few bucks to a few hundred. My personal opinion it that all are overvalued. But that is personal prejudice.

Time for more coffee.
