1898 beauty! Found this in my own backyard a few weeks ago detecting with my granddaughter. It's in remarkable condition. The tag reads: galesbuug (IL) dog tax 284, the collar imprinted on the dog red1898. I believes its made of copper and it's mere .033 inchs thick! To get an idea of the significance of this tag do a web search for: morgan park dog tax. My yard has also yielded up two silver sized 25 cent tokens and an Illinois tax token.
