1900's House Relic

It's very rusted, not sure what it's composed of, but my thoughts are an old iron or a woodworking plane or maybe a concrete leveller. Any other ideas?

Re: 1900's House Relic

I've been collecting and studying antique wood planes for 15 years, and am certain that this is not a piece or part of a wood plane.

Thanks Clovis, guess I can eliminate the wood plane. The general consenses seems to be leaning towards cooking related. Nothing for sure yet though. Any more guesses?? Thanks for all the responses so far!

The funny thing to all of this is that I kept trying to look at it as a plane part, but never saw it as a cast iron lid handle!

I also think it is a handle to a lid, but only after reading what the others posted!!!!
