Today i went to a gas station to fill up the car and went inside to buy some chips. I pay with my cash and got a really dirty coin. I nearly screamed when i saw it. It was a 1901 V Nickel!! This is by far the best thing i've ever randomly found and the oldest! Heres some pictures: Resized_20170309_145059.webpResized_20170309_145119.webp

It's still out there, my brother got a buffalo with a readable date in change yesterday.

Amazing. Even more so when you think how many hands this thing has probably gone through. It's not like some kid snagged something from his dads collection to buy gum. Heck I feel that way now just getting a wheat cent in change.

Looks way better than it would if it came out of the ground! Good eye!

OUTSTANDING Ender_boy24!

Nice find, congratulations!

I received a V-nickel and Buffalo nickel so far this year from the same gas station! You never know!

That will make your day on any day!

My wife got an Indian head penny one time in change. Congrats on the V

Someone raided Dad's metal detecting finds to by some gas! Nice find!

Nice! My mom just got a Buffalo nickel in her change the other day.

Yup...you never know! It is still out there. I've only received wheat pennies and the occasional silver Rosie. But I hear about buffalos and Mercs popping up from time to time. Pretty cool find. 1901...wow!!!

AWESOME! There is still hope to find a decent coin or two even in this day and age! :hello2:

That is sweet. Nice bonus find in your change, Congrats. My best change return find was a 1909 VDB wheaty 25 years ago.
