This coin was found in 1989 at the city park in Fairmont, Minnesota as some of our club members and I were on our way to assist General Electric in a search for wreckage from United Airlines flight 232 that crash landed in Sioux City Iowa.

Was anyone else on this forum involved in that search?
There were clubs from at least 5 states involved.

When I was a teenager I had a 1909, but you could barely read the date. It came up missing, along with some other old coins I had collected. I guess someone wanted them more than I did.
Very nice coin.

Nice coin.

I have a box of wheaties I dug back in the early 80's. I've never even checked the dates. Back then wheaties were no big deal.

I'll have to check them out sometime soon.

I remember back in the 70's when I used to search penny rolls I'd often find 1909 S pennies. I think I found one 1909 VDB. But, back then even the VDB wasn't anything like it is today.
