Guess I can’t edit errors in the topic, my bad. Ive been going thru more of my grandpas coin collection and came across this clipped 1910 wheatie , is this a known factory error or just damage? I tried looking it up but can’t find anything in my quick search. Thanks for any hell you can offer

Footballman - that very well could be a straight clip. 2 things would help; take it out of the 2x2 flip for better pictures and then also include in the picture the whole coin. For determining clips the rim 180 degrees away from the clip is important to see (look up the Blakesley effect - maybe not spelled correctly).

Ok thanks Twitch, I’ll pull it out when I get home and snap some better shots. Thanks for the tip on the “Blakesley Effect” I’ll research that so I get a better understanding of what it is. Thank you!

Are those a little better angles? Thanks for the info...ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1515272979.995810.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1515273016.513559.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1515273041.540603.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1515273061.947151.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1515273089.802316.webp

I’m still unsure, it does kinda look weaker in the LI or Liberty, but I’m not sure. Thanks for the info on the Blakesley effect, good knowledge to have ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1515275928.503090.webp
