Found this 1914 D Wheat Penny the other day while detecting with the Equinox 800. The coin is in fairly good condition and is one of only 1,193,000 coins minted in Denver. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience with what this coin might be worth? Any comments or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My Warman's book lists a 1914D in VF as worth $315.Don't know how your coin would be graded.

Nice find! I'd give that a VF-35 grade. The best way to determine value is go on eBay and see what people are actually paying. Do a search on 1914D Lincoln, then click the "Sold Items" to see recent purchases. VF-35 appears to be fetching $350-400. However, yours is a dug coin which typically gets dinged down in price because of environmental damage. Ferinstance, I think I see some pitting on the rim. So I'd say $250-300. A coin dealer will typically pay 50%.
