dime2.webpdime1.webp1916 Mercury! So I was killing some time at an older park and as usual I always hit the playground area first to get battery money. Now I've hit this park several times as I'm sure many have before me but in an area where the wood chips were washed away I get a sweet 81 on my MXT which is usually good silver - most times a ring. Dug down about 4" and there she was! Now I good see it was a 1916 and I remembered that was a key date but couldn't remember what mint mark was key. When I got back to the car I got out my reading glasses (this is the first year I had to have them!) and found an "S". But still had to wait until I got back home and look it up to see that my hopes were dashed and I was not $5,000 dollars richer - dang it. Still a good find for my collection!!!
