Hit an old hunting lodge today with my brother and we didn't expect too much because of the bad signals we always got when going there ( you literally couldn't walk without getting junk hits) but we managed to still find some cool coins. First we hit the 1944 wheat penny that was shot, we think someone used it for target practice in the 1950's. After finding that, we were pretty happy and didn't expect to find anything else. Boy were we wrong! About half an hour after the whet penny, we got a solid 87 signal at the AT pro at 6 inches deep. Expecting it to just be a clad quarter that was deep, I dug down and located it with my pro pointer. I couldn't believe my eyes, it was a 1919 Canadian quarter in great condition! We will be hitting that spot again for sure! Thanks for looking and check out our youtube video for live action of the hunt in the field. HH!

Very good team work, I hope you guys find a few really big gold and diamond rings so you can outfit both of you with machines and pointers! Good luck Diggyboy

Thanks! We already have 2 detectors we just think working together is more efficient. Good luck to you too and HH!

Thank you! I love finding old Canadians too I would have rather found that than a standing liberty
Careful now, your going to have the patriots labeling you a loyalist and send you packing across the border:laughing7:
Lovely Canadian quarter thou.
ZDD

The pics are pretty blurry but I think it may even be AU I will post some better pics tommarow I will be getting a new camera

Michigan thanks, I know Michiganne well.
It may well be an Au, better pics will tell.
I have been a long time collector, 40 years, I could see the center diamond well so I said XF, but I am pretty strict on grading, and if there is less than 50% mint luster, than no AU. Being a ground found coin it is hard (not imposssible) to imagine 50% mint luster. That said I got a 1776 2 reales that does have a lot of mint luster, so I know it can happen. (I have video of this comming out of the ground.)

I def. see some luster there.
If you crop before posting it will help a whole bunch more.

Nice looking coin for sure! :)

My oldest Canadian quarter was a 1929 until I found a really nice shape key date 1887 quarter over the winter.

That sounds like a great find congrats!

I would have to say my most valuable find. My favorite would be the 26 silver coin cache. It was exciting to see them keep popping out of the ground and never knowing when they would end.

Thats amazing my best hunt I got 6 silvers

Nice. I consider myself lucky if I get one silver every now and then. I know I had way to many hunts were I came back empty handed but it's those good hunts that makes it all worth it. :)

Hopefully these are better
Those Pics are much better, Thanks, cropping first makes a hige difference.
But my original grade stands. Sharp coin, great find, no disrespect, but what you got about 30% luster on the reverse onlywhich is typical, it is an EF coin. No more, and great for found.

Here's one for non found for grade reference.

You can call your coin Au if you want, as grading is subjective, but it's not AU, so why not call a spade a spade ?

Nice find! Very nice coin!
