One of my favorite finds, this 1921 Standing Liberty quarter, found several years ago in a forest preserve, out in the middle of nowhere!

It amazes me that you can try a spot where you think there would be nothing, and then see the glint of a key-date silver coin in the ground!

I love this hobby!

Thanks, my friend! Deep in the middle of a forest, in a small clearing barely wide enough to swing my coil....it was down 4". Not another signal in that area at all, not even junk!

Well, you've got nothing to lose, believe me! I have some very nice colonial coins which I dug in forests, including a 1797 cent, and a 1788 Massachusetts copper cent! Go for it!

Mike, I was so thrilled to see that the date was still easily discernable, and the pic really doesn't show it. A key-date 1921....I was really thrilled!
