1923 Peace Dollar found at church

I went out for about 20 minutes and as I was swinging, I got a 78 on the AT Pro. In short hunts I don't usually dig penny signals but decided to this time because the machine said it was 2" down. Well I dug it and not even half an inch down I saw a nice silver rim. Pulled it up and it was this 1923 Peace dollar encased in rubber. (I think the rubber is ugly)

Great find! Never seen a rubber encased dollar before. Maybe soaking it in some gasoline would help remove the coating.

peace coin and rubber together there has joke in there somewhere. my buddy and I are older men so he calls me one day and says he was in the drug store where they sell condoms. he says how convenient they have a three pack. a years supply in one box.

It was definitely a pendant, medallion, or something. I won't be taking the rubber off (lol). Someone took a peace dollar, carved out the fields and stuck it in rubber. I peeled back some of that black and you can see through it.

Yeah! It's cool to know that there are still silver dollars in the ground. It's just this time I found half a silver dollar haha.
