I found it along with 4 other commemorative halves in a small cloth bag.

Great coin, I have never seen this one before. Here's what I found on it:

Value $300-1100 :thumbsup:
 

There are a couple on Ebay for around $300-$400. I like it. When I first saw it all I could see was the back and I thought it was a Reale or something.
 

Calvert sponsored the departure of about 200 would-be colonists from England to America on the Ark and the Dove in 1633, who formed the first settlement in Maryland at St. Mary's in 1634.
Oddly, Cecil Calvert never came to America.
The coins were originally sold for $1.00; the profits help fund the celebration.
