Wow, what a great one hour investment of my time! I have hit this old school many, many times in the past, but I believe there are always good targets in the ground no matter how many coils have swung above it. My favorite find is a 1937 Class Ring that states, "Coldflex, Balfour, 1/2 10K & STER"; 4th gold ring of 2015. My 38th silver coin find for 2015 is a 1943P war nickel. And the cutest find for 2015 is this badge that states, "Official Reporter - Scoop Ward - News of Youth - Ward's Soft Bun Bread". Couple of months and the ground will be frozen; must do more!

Thanks for all of the replies, folks. The "1/2 10K & Ster" does mean that the total weight of the ring/item is 50% 10K gold and 50% sterling silver. So, if an item weighs, say, 10 grams, then it contains 5 grams 10K gold and 5 grams sterling silver. This ring has a large silver area where the school name would have been adhered to; the school name is missing in this case. Still searching.

very cool, ajaj. I wondered what that meant, and now I will be all the more informed if I am lucky enough to come across such a stamp in my travels. :occasion14:

Sweet gold and badge!

Love the old Class ring.. I think I have one similar which is a 35 Class ring, the 10k / Sterling was just a cheaper way of making a Gold ring. Mine came from saltwater,OBN0352[1].webp so the outer shell of the ring is 10k (came out looking Ok) where as the interpart of the ring is sterling/gold (came out tarnished, not crusty black as regular sterling would be being in the saltwater so long).
